Student Activities

Incorporated into the program are student activities to build leadership and community.

Student Government

The Student Government organization provides student input into the operation of the school. The group is instrumental in creating a community that meets the needs of students. Participation in this organization acquaints students with democratic principles and will develop leadership qualities that will be beneficial in college and career development.

Student Newsletter

The student newsletter is produced by the Student Journalism Group. The newsletter notifies students about school activities and highlights the international aspects of the school. By serving on the school newsletter, students gain insight into journalism careers and improve their English literacy in practical ways.

International Diplomats

The International Diplomats are selected by the faculty to represent the school throughout the community. The Diplomats, dressed in blue blazers, accompany IEC administrators to community functions to talk about the school. Involvement in this group helps students develop verbal communication skills.

Alumni Organization

The IEC Alumni Organization is comprised of graduating students of the school. The organization strives to keep in contact with prior students and to offer a community of support. The Alumni group provides inspiration for new students and continued support for graduates.

Graduation

Graduation ceremonies are held twice a year. Diplomas and certificates of merit are awarded to students at these ceremonies. Even after graduation, the doors of the International Education Center will always remain open to assist any and all graduates as they travel new education or career paths.

Community Service

All IEC programs contain a community service module. Students are asked to participate in community service projects in order to familiarize themselves with the community at large, to gain a sense of belonging, and to participate in America’s foundational principle of people working together to build a better community, state and nation.
