The
Jefferson Adult Academy opened in July 2008, offers a GED program to
address the 25% of immigrants that do not have a high school degree and
a finishing school for students that have aged out of public schools
or need assistance with college placement exams. Jefferson’s program,
based on an ESL foundation, incorporates the traditional five academic
subject areas of the American GED program (English Reading, English Writing,
Math, Science and American/World Studies) with the Accuplacer college
preparatory program.
